& Objectives
The goal and the objectives of the National AIDS
Control Programme (NACP- III) are to halt and
reverse the epidemic in the state through
integration of prevention, care, treatment and
support programs. Its four components are:
i) Prevention of new infections in high-risk
groups through
Saturation of coverage of high risk groups with
Targeted Interventions (TI).
Scaled up
interventions in other vulnerable populations.
ii) Increasing the number of persons living with
HIV/AIDS receiving care and treatment.
iii) Strengthening the infrastructure, systems
and human resources in prevention and treatment
programs at the district, state levels.
iv)Establishing a state wide strategic planning,
programme management, monitoring and evaluation
system.
